My Story

TemiMarcellaA.com serves as a medium for Temi to share her journey through life as an investor, entrepreneur, and mother. Temi embraces her identity as a true global citizen of Nigerian, German and Scottish heritage. She has lived and worked across 4 continents and traveled much of the globe.

 

Temi is passionate about leadership, investing & entrepreneurship, technology & innovation, youth & gender empowerment. She loves to travel, the arts and embraces life’s luxuries, most of all the luxury of raising a warrior princess.

Temi strives to live a life that is Purpose Driven, Passion Filled and Performance Oriented. She hopes to inspire and give you a glimpse of the world through her eyes and passions.

Experience

Temi Marcella has more than a decade of experience in finance across developed and growth markets. As an investment professional, Temi has committed and deployed nearly US$500 million in private partnership capital across strategic sectors on the African continent in a bid to tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges. 

 Temi is passionate about growing and cultivating disruptive, transformative institutions that will emerge initially as regional champions and go on to be tomorrow’s global challengers. She looks for investments with visionary entrepreneurs to build scalable businesses and sustainable innovation ecosystems and seeks to pioneer models that set global standard for investing with impact. Temi is a Board Member of the Save the Children Africa Advisory Board and sits on the board of Generation Enterprise.

Temi started her career at Goldman Sachs International, initially as a Derivatives Trader. She was promoted to managing a portfolio of structured equity derivatives, then as an Investment Analyst. She was named a Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Scholar and was a recipient of the Goldman Sachs and Institute of International Education’s Global Leaders Award.

Temi graduated with an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. She has an MA degree with First Class Honors in Economics from Christ’s College, the University of Cambridge, where she was a matriculation scholar.

Honours & Awards

Temi is a Kauffman Venture Capital Fellow selected to participate in a two-year mastery-level program which challenges already successful investors to be even more self-aware and nimble in their thinking, in a mission to accelerate the development of innovation and venture capital industry leaders globally. Temi is an Investment Committee member of the Spike Funds of the Alumni Ventures Group.

Temi is an African Leadership Institute Tutu Fellow  of the Archbishop Tutu Leadership Fellowship Programme, which welcomes an elite group of Africa’s highest potential young leaders, representing a wide range of sectors. Temi is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper with the Lagos Hub and Alumni Ambassador of the London Hub. Born out of the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community is a network of inspiring young people under the age of 30 working together to address local, regional and global challenges.

Temi has received recognition for her contributions as an investment professional. In 2018, she received The Future Africa Awards Prize for Professional Service and prior to this, was the recipient of the M&A Advisors European Emerging Leaders Award. Temi has been recognized as the Female Lead’s Top 20 Women under 20; and, Management Today/The Telegraph’s 35 Women Under 35 in the United Kingdom.
